The paperback includes some information about Batman in the 70's in short chapters called Classic Tales, Cast of Characters, The Villains, Bat-Books of the Seventies and The Artists. The s was the era that gave Batman back his testosterone- took him back to his roots and essentially made a man out of him again after a lot of the buffoonery that had come before. Grittier story lines combined with more detailed almost gothic style art really rejuvenated the character. O'Neil's s run on the Batman titles, under the direction of editor Julius Schwartz, is perhaps his best-known endeavor, getting back to the character's darker roots after a period dominated by the campiness of the s TV series.
